The Challenge
The challenge was to create custom tiles using sustainable materials that would not only reflect their commitment to environmental responsibility but also incorporate recycled textiles, specifically denim, into the design. Nudie Jeans wanted the tiles to serve as a focal point in their stores while supporting their sustainability-driven brand image.
Our Approach
We collaborated closely with Nudie Jeans to develop a bespoke set of tiles made from 80% recycled glass, integrating over 15 kilograms of recycled denim fibres into the design.
These materials, normally unsuitable for recycling, were transformed into a visually striking feature that enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the showrooms. Our solution focused on ensuring the tiles met both sustainability requirements and the client’s design vision, creating a standout piece that aligned with Nudie’s eco-friendly ethos.
The Result
The custom tiles exceeded expectations, becoming a standout feature in the Nudie Jeans showrooms.
Not only did they meet sustainability and design objectives, but they also became a talking point for visitors and are now being considered for several prestigious design and sustainability awards. This project successfully highlights the potential of incorporating recycled materials into high-end retail spaces while enhancing the brand’s environmental credentials.
